Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Electricity, Technology and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.82%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which rose 9.27% or 0.95 points to trade at 11.20 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) added 7.02% or 2.65 points to end at 40.40 and Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) was up 5.66% or 0.150 points to 2.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO), which lost 9.85% or 0.260 points to trade at 2.380 in late trade. Anadolu Isuzu (IS:ASUZU) declined 3.92% or 0.90 points to end at 22.05 and Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) shed 2.58% or 0.06 points to 2.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 232 to 171 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.71% or 8.40 to $1180.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.62% or 0.37 to hit $59.02 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.80 to trade at $65.36 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.15% to 2.6919, while EUR/TRY fell 0.74% to 2.9986.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.32% at 95.21.
