Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Technology and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 19.39% or 4.15 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) added 4.67% or 0.40 points to end at 8.97 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was up 4.35% or 0.010 points to 0.230 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 3.67% or 1.05 points to trade at 27.55 in late trade. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 3.57% or 0.020 points to end at 0.540 and Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) shed 2.87% or 0.400 points to 13.550.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 205 to 201 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.53% or 6.20 to $1163.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.95% or 0.54 to hit $57.50 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.59 to trade at $62.60 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.23% to 2.6860, while EUR/TRY rose 0.17% to 2.9809.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 96.25.
