Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 2.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Biotrend Cevre ve Enerji Yatirimlari AS (IS:BIOEN), which rose 9.91% or 2.00 points to trade at 22.18 at the close. Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) added 9.74% or 15.10 points to end at 170.20 and Baticim Bati Anadolu Cimento Sanayi AS (IS:BTCIM) was up 9.31% or 13.50 points to 158.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK), which lost 5.86% or 6.60 points to trade at 106.10 in late trade. Anadolu Anonim Turk Sigorta Sti (IS:ANSGR) declined 4.68% or 5.30 points to end at 107.90 and Sdt Uzay ve Savunma Teknolojileri AS (IS:SDTTR) shed 3.70% or 10.50 points to 273.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 446 to 113 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.92% or 21.65 to $2,368.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.40% or 0.32 to hit $81.03 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.43 to trade at $85.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.06% to 32.85, while EUR/TRY rose 1.00% to 35.33.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 105.14.
