Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Real Estate Investments and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.78% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN), which rose 7.24% or 3.85 points to trade at 57.00 at the close. Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) added 6.68% or 0.69 points to end at 11.02 and Akfen Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:AKFGY) was up 6.61% or 0.15 points to 2.42 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which lost 2.49% or 0.84 points to trade at 32.92 in late trade. Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG) declined 2.47% or 1.90 points to end at 75.00 and Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) shed 1.74% or 2.20 points to 124.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 398 to 160 and 14 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.08% or 1.80 to $2,367.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $83.96 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.18% or 0.16 to trade at $87.50 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 32.55, while EUR/TRY rose 0.20% to 35.19.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 104.81.
