Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Information Technology and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR), which rose 9.99% or 3.26 points to trade at 35.88 at the close. Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS (IS:AGROT) added 5.61% or 0.99 points to end at 18.64 and Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS:TOASO) was up 4.95% or 11.40 points to 241.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tukas Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TUKAS), which lost 4.98% or 0.43 points to trade at 8.20 in late trade. Borusan Yatirim ve Pazarlama AS (IS:BRYAT) declined 4.26% or 82.00 points to end at 1,843.00 and Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:OBAMS) shed 3.54% or 1.32 points to 36.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 289 to 265 and 19 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.14% or 3.40 to $2,507.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.89% or 1.51 to hit $78.55 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.74% or 1.43 to trade at $80.87 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.54% to 33.55, while EUR/TRY rose 0.10% to 36.74.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 102.76.
