Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.83%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI), which rose 8.70% or 5.40 points to trade at 67.45 at the close. Anel Elektrik Proje Taahhut ve Ticaret AS (IS:ANELE) added 8.23% or 0.130 points to end at 1.710 and Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:GOLTS) was up 6.92% or 0.74 points to 11.44 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER), which lost 4.09% or 0.30 points to trade at 7.03 in late trade. Galatasaray Sportif Sinai ve Ticari Yatirimlar AS (IS:GSRAY) declined 3.85% or 0.05 points to end at 1.25 and Trabzonspor Sportif Yatirim ve Futbol Isletmeciligi Ticaret AS (IS:TSPOR) shed 3.31% or 0.050 points to 1.460.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 205 to 151 and 51 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.33% or 4.30 to $1285.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.55% or 0.75 to hit $49.27 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.15% or 0.66 to trade at $57.99 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.26% to 5.5019, while EUR/TRY rose 1.96% to 6.2947.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.498.
