Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Food & Beverages and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Petkim Petrokimya Holding AS (IS:PETKM), which rose 17.97% or 0.850 points to trade at 5.580 at the close. Goodyear Lastikleri TAS (IS:GOODY) added 6.44% or 0.23 points to end at 3.80 and Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS:CLEBI) was up 4.70% or 1.90 points to 42.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO), which lost 13.64% or 0.150 points to trade at 0.950 in late trade. Ihlas Holding AS (IS:IHLAS) declined 4.88% or 0.020 points to end at 0.390 and Alarko Holding AS (IS:ALARK) shed 3.29% or 0.160 points to 4.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 249 to 112 and 46 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1221.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $67.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $72.26 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 3.84% to 5.4831, while EUR/TRY rose 3.40% to 6.3474.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 95.22.
