Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Semiconductor and Optoelectronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted declined 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101), which rose 350.24% or 7.39 points to trade at 9.50 at the close. Lien Chang Electronic Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:2431) added 10.00% or 1.75 points to end at 19.25 and Taiwan Pelican Express Co Ltd (TW:2642) was up 9.97% or 3.75 points to 41.35 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Biostar Microtech International Corp (TW:2399), which lost 10.00% or 4.05 points to trade at 36.45 in late trade. Min Aik Precision Industrial Co Ltd (TW:4545) declined 9.97% or 7.20 points to end at 65.00 and Lead Data Inc (TW:2443) shed 9.85% or 0.39 points to 3.57.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.06% or 0.04 to $67.34 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 6.00 to trade at $2,761.90 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.03% to 32.11, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.27% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 104.17.
