Investing.com – Taiwan equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , Oil, Gas & Electricity and Other Electronic sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Taisol Electronics Co Ltd (TW:3338), which rose 9.91% or 3.15 points to trade at 34.95 at the close. Loop Telecommunication International Inc (TW:3025) added 9.83% or 1.70 points to end at 19.00 and Chaun-Choung Technology Corp (TW:6230) was up 9.70% or 13.00 points to 147.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bonny Worldwide Ltd (TW:8467), which lost 7.08% or 2.45 points to trade at 32.15 in late trade. Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW:1470) declined 5.59% or 1.00 points to end at 16.90 and Sino Horizon Holdings Ltd (TW:2923) shed 5.37% or 1.05 points to 18.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 439 to 352 and 124 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.12% or 0.06 to $48.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.12% or 0.07 to hit $57.40 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.42% or 5.40 to trade at $1284.50 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.07% to 30.827, while TWD/CNY rose 0.11% to 0.2225.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.417.
