Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Other Electronic, Electronic Parts/Components and Glass sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted rose 0.99%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were PCL Technologies Inc (TW:4977), which rose 10.00% or 13.00 points to trade at 143.00 at the close. FSP Technology Inc (TW:3015) added 10.00% or 6.40 points to end at 70.40 and Polytronics Technology Corp (TW:6224) was up 9.98% or 6.20 points to 68.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Hitron Technologies Inc (TW:2419) declined 9.52% or 3.40 points to end at 32.30 and Shin Tai Industry Co Ltd (TW:1235) shed 8.50% or 12.50 points to 134.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.09% or 0.06 to $68.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $72.23 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.56 to trade at $2,676.76 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.08% to 32.39, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.09% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 106.14.
