Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Trading & Consumer Goods, Electricity and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Teapo Electronic Corp (TW:2375), which rose 9.98% or 8.00 points to trade at 88.20 at the close. King Core Electronics Inc (TW:6155) added 9.97% or 3.45 points to end at 38.05 and Taiwan Mask Corp (TW:2338) was up 9.90% or 3.30 points to 36.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Century Iron And Steel Industrial Co Ltd (TW:9958), which lost 5.70% or 4.00 points to trade at 66.20 in late trade. Young Optics Inc (TW:3504) declined 5.28% or 7.50 points to end at 134.50 and Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) shed 4.08% or 2.80 points to 65.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 467 to 326 and 120 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.44% or 0.29 to $65.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.66% or 0.49 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.77% or 9.80 to trade at $1264.70 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.40% to 30.317, while TWD/CNY rose 0.23% to 0.2152.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.01.
