Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Biotech & Medical Care, Electricity and Machinery sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Danen Technology Corp (TW:3686), which rose 10.00% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.60 at the close. EZconn Corp (TW:6442) added 10.00% or 40.50 points to end at 445.50 and Taiwan Chelic Corp Ltd (TW:4555) was up 9.99% or 4.45 points to 49.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lead Data Inc (TW:2443), which lost 9.85% or 0.39 points to trade at 3.57 in late trade. Arima Communications Corp (TW:8101) declined 9.83% or 0.23 points to end at 2.11 and King’s Town Construction Co Ltd (TW:2524) shed 9.19% or 12.50 points to 123.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 0 to 0 on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.22% or 0.16 to $71.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.05% or 0.04 to hit $76.01 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.24% or 6.20 to trade at $2,541.30 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was up 0.09% to 31.96, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.04% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.19% at 101.10.
