Investing.com – Taiwan equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Transport, Electricity and Biotech & Medical Care sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Ace Pillar Co Ltd (TW:8374), which rose 9.97% or 2.95 points to trade at 32.55 at the close. Leadtek Research Inc (TW:2465) added 9.97% or 1.80 points to end at 19.85 and Evermore Chemical Industry Co Ltd (TW:1735) was up 9.91% or 1.70 points to 18.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which lost 9.81% or 4.35 points to trade at 40.00 in late trade. Nien Made Enterprise Co Ltd (TW:8464) declined 4.14% or 14.00 points to end at 324.50 and TSEC Corp (TW:6443) shed 3.28% or 0.40 points to 11.80.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 429 to 314 and 132 ended unchanged on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.10% or 0.05 to $51.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.14% or 0.08 to hit $57.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.86 to trade at $1282.76 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 30.238, while TWD/CNY fell 0.09% to 0.2193.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 93.66.
