Investing.com – Sweden equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 declined 1.81% to hit a new 1-month low.

The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were Telia Company AB (ST:TELIA), which rose 2.06% or 0.85 points to trade at 42.08 at the close. Tele2 AB (ST:TEL2b) added 1.66% or 1.80 points to end at 110.40 and Svenska Handelsbanken AB A (ST:SHBa) was up 1.04% or 1.12 points to 108.62 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Svenska Cellulosa SCA AB B (ST:SCAb), which lost 5.69% or 5.6 points to trade at 92.4 in late trade. Atlas Copco AB Class A (ST:ATCOa) declined 5.53% or 13.7 points to end at 234.0 and Sandvik AB (ST:SAND) shed 5.39% or 8.30 points to 145.70.

Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 463 to 174 and 45 ended unchanged on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 2.25% or 1.69 to $73.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.89% or 1.61 to hit $83.39 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1192.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/SEK was up 0.35% to 10.4995, while USD/SEK fell 0.06% to 9.0988.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 95.08.
