Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Information Technology and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.88% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 21.95% or 5.40 points to end at 30.00 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was up 12.50% or 50.00 points to 450.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which lost 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) declined 8.33% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) shed 6.67% or 0.100 points to 1.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 116 to 56 and 43 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.35% or 0.25 to $71.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.10% or 0.08 to hit $79.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1207.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.17% to 222.525, while USD/LKR rose 0.83% to 168.520.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 93.82.
