Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Investment Trust, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.76% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 18.03% or 110.60 points to trade at 724.00 at the close. Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Eastern Merchants PLC (CM:EMER) was up 16.28% or 0.70 points to 5.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which lost 24.29% or 8.50 points to trade at 26.50 in late trade. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 16.35% or 234.60 points to end at 1200.00 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) shed 13.79% or 3.20 points to 20.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 81 and 46 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.15% or 0.11 to $73.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.27% or 0.22 to hit $82.95 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 5.80 to trade at $1190.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.02% to 220.740, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 169.190.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 94.73.
