Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Financials & Insurance, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 14.12% or 86.60 points to 700.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which lost 20.48% or 12.90 points to trade at 50.10 in late trade. Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) declined 11.90% or 10.40 points to end at 77.00 and Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) shed 11.51% or 1.60 points to 12.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 62 and 64 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.87% or 0.65 to $74.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.16% or 0.97 to hit $84.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1190.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.07% to 223.005, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 170.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 95.73.
