Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) added 25.00% or 26.90 points to end at 134.50 and George Steuart Finance Ltd (CM:GEOR) was up 18.04% or 3.50 points to 22.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND), which lost 23.08% or 12.00 points to trade at 40.00 in late trade. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 21.76% or 294.00 points to end at 1057.10 and Trans Asia Hotels PLC (CM:TRAN) shed 15.52% or 12.90 points to 70.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 76 and 51 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.29% or 0.21 to $71.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.11% or 0.09 to hit $78.60 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.57% or 7.30 to trade at $1284.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.47% to 211.590, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 157.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 93.75.
