Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Trading, Diversified Holdings and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 18.53% or 6.80 points to end at 43.50 and Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) was up 15.38% or 50.00 points to 375.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which lost 13.81% or 2.90 points to trade at 18.10 in late trade. Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) declined 13.66% or 64.90 points to end at 410.10 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 79 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.44% or 0.28 to $63.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.17 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.79% or 10.50 to trade at $1333.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.59% to 209.435, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 91.12.
