Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Services and Motors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.26% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 19.77% or 12.30 points to end at 74.50 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 16.79% or 6.90 points to 48.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CT Land Development PLC (CM:CTLD), which lost 39.40% or 23.80 points to trade at 36.60 in late trade. Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) declined 23.08% or 0.300 points to end at 1.000 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) shed 16.47% or 4.10 points to 20.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 81 and 38 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.94% or 0.60 to $64.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.99% or 0.67 to hit $68.09 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.26% or 3.40 to trade at $1315.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.54% to 219.630, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 156.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 89.76.
