Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Palm Oil, Services and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was up 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 19.35% or 16.20 points to trade at 67.50 in late trade. Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) declined 14.19% or 220.00 points to end at 1330.00 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) shed 13.33% or 0.600 points to 3.900.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 82 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.25% or 0.12 to $48.78 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.09% or 0.05 to hit $52.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.11% or 1.41 to trade at $1293.01 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.13% to 197.195, while USD/LKR fell 0.10% to 153.150.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.38.
