Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Plantations, Information Technology and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.09% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which rose 19.07% or 13.60 points to trade at 84.90 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) was up 16.00% or 12.80 points to 92.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL), which lost 12.66% or 2.90 points to trade at 20.00 in late trade. Horana Plantations PLC (CM:HOPL) declined 11.32% or 3.00 points to end at 23.50 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) shed 11.23% or 3.10 points to 24.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 81 to 63 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.63% or 0.36 to $57.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.52% or 0.33 to hit $63.56 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.27% or 3.40 to trade at $1260.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 204.280, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.190.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.30.
