Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Services, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Plantations sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.08% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 20.97% or 13.00 points to trade at 75.00 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 16.67% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.7000 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 15.83% or 273.40 points to 2000.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which lost 24.00% or 12.00 points to trade at 38.00 in late trade. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) shed 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 86 to 73 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.51% or 0.29 to $57.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $63.31 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.25% or 3.10 to trade at $1260.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.23% to 205.400, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 153.100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.48.
