Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Telecoms and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) added 11.25% or 130.40 points to end at 1290.00 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT), which lost 11.82% or 2.60 points to trade at 19.40 in late trade. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 10.26% or 3.90 points to end at 34.10 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) shed 8.33% or 50.00 points to 550.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 85 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.01 to $54.31 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.43% or 0.26 to hit $60.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.07 to trade at $1277.23 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.18% to 203.450, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.640.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.55.
