Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Construction & Engineering sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) was up 23.68% or 9.00 points to 47.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which lost 13.19% or 197.60 points to trade at 1300.00 in late trade. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) declined 6.98% or 1.50 points to end at 20.00 and Summit Finance PLC (CM:PRIM) shed 6.74% or 1.30 points to 18.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 118 to 51 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.88% or 0.62 to $71.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.46% or 1.07 to hit $74.47 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1243.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 210.650, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 159.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.58.
