Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Information Technology and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 23.24% or 15.80 points to end at 83.80 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 18.50% or 3.70 points to 23.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which lost 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 in late trade. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) shed 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 126 to 47 and 47 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.21% or 0.16 to $76.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.29% or 0.25 to hit $86.04 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.07% to 220.825, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 169.990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 95.55.
