Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Services and Diversified Holdings sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hunas Falls Hotels PLC (CM:HUNA), which rose 24.95% or 12.50 points to trade at 62.60 at the close. Hemas Power PLC (CM:HPWR) added 21.05% or 4.00 points to end at 23.00 and Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) was up 13.95% or 8.20 points to 67.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 17.32% or 256.70 points to trade at 1225.00 in late trade. Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) declined 12.41% or 4.90 points to end at 34.60 and Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) shed 10.25% or 4.10 points to 35.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 70 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.41% or 0.25 to $61.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.53% or 0.34 to hit $64.67 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.52% or 7.00 to trade at $1362.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.44% to 218.800, while USD/LKR rose 0.18% to 155.200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 88.49.
