Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Plantations and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) added 21.67% or 14.50 points to end at 81.40 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was up 18.75% or 2.10 points to 13.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 24.45% or 379.00 points to trade at 1171.00 in late trade. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 12.21% or 1.60 points to end at 11.50 and Odel PLC (CM:ODEL) shed 8.33% or 1.90 points to 20.90.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 91 to 56 and 60 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.04% or 0.02 to $56.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.22% or 0.14 to hit $62.58 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.77% or 9.60 to trade at $1258.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.58% to 205.920, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 153.230.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 93.47.
