Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.52%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 0.80% or 0.08 points to trade at 9.79 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 0.53% or 0.02 points to end at 3.60 and Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) was up 0.30% or 0.05 points to 16.57 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Santander (BME:SAN), which lost 4.53% or 0.21 points to trade at 4.46 in late trade. Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI) declined 3.38% or 0.04 points to end at 1.23 and Indra A (BME:IDR) shed 2.98% or 0.51 points to 16.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 137 to 51 and 28 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.52% or 13.99 to $2,656.01 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.06% or 1.46 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 1.05 to trade at $72.86 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 106.48.
