Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Financial Services & Real Estate and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 2.36% or 0.26 points to trade at 11.27 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX) added 1.24% or 0.43 points to end at 35.16 and Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE) was up 1.07% or 0.22 points to 20.78 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which lost 3.08% or 0.77 points to trade at 24.24 in late trade. Fluidra (BME:FLUI) declined 2.92% or 0.64 points to end at 21.28 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA) shed 2.48% or 0.23 points to 9.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 142 to 57 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 2.75 to $2,525.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.88% or 0.62 to hit $69.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.56 to trade at $73.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 101.33.
