Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Fluidra (BME:FLUI), which rose 2.57% or 0.52 points to trade at 20.74 at the close. Bankinter (BME:BKT) added 2.22% or 0.17 points to end at 7.83 and Indra A (BME:IDR) was up 2.15% or 0.41 points to 19.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which lost 2.45% or 0.53 points to trade at 21.12 in late trade. Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) declined 1.45% or 0.08 points to end at 5.43 and Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA (BME:BBVA) shed 1.37% or 0.13 points to 9.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 82 and 17 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.47% or 35.65 to $2,464.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.13% or 0.91 to hit $79.93 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.05% or 0.89 to trade at $83.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 104.09.
