Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 fell 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 2.82% or 0.55 points to trade at 20.06 at the close. Fluidra (BME:FLUI) added 2.55% or 0.64 points to end at 25.76 and Inmobiliaria Colonial SA (BME:COL) was up 1.86% or 0.10 points to 5.47 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Puig Brands SA (BME:PUIGb), which lost 3.51% or 0.69 points to trade at 18.99 in late trade. Mapfre (BME:MAP) declined 1.65% or 0.04 points to end at 2.51 and Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) shed 1.21% or 0.11 points to 8.63.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 67 and 28 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.48% or 12.76 to $2,661.16 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.26% or 0.86 to hit $67.44 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.78 to trade at $71.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 106.00.
