Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA (BME:ANE), which rose 4.43% or 0.92 points to trade at 21.70 at the close. SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) added 3.99% or 0.45 points to end at 11.72 and Acciona (BME:ANA) was up 2.16% or 2.70 points to 127.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which lost 2.52% or 0.25 points to trade at 9.52 in late trade. Industria de Diseno Textil SA (BME:ITX) declined 1.96% or 0.94 points to end at 46.93 and Logista (BME:LOG) shed 0.22% or 0.06 points to 27.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 67 and 35 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.49% or 12.40 to $2,538.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $69.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.05 to trade at $72.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 101.11.
