Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME:GRLS), which rose 3.83% or 0.36 points to trade at 9.71 at the close. Unicaja Banco SA (BME:UNI) added 2.61% or 0.03 points to end at 1.34 and Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME:ROVI) was up 1.69% or 1.05 points to 63.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which lost 2.04% or 0.66 points to trade at 31.66 in late trade. Acciona (BME:ANA) declined 2.03% or 2.30 points to end at 111.00 and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) shed 1.94% or 0.17 points to 8.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 88 and 16 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.22% or 5.84 to $2,669.96 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.68% or 1.20 to hit $70.09 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.02% or 0.76 to trade at $73.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.46% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 106.53.
