Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 rose 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS), which rose 2.62% or 0.22 points to trade at 8.41 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME:ICAG) added 2.20% or 0.08 points to end at 3.67 and Logista (BME:LOG) was up 1.84% or 0.52 points to 28.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cellnex Telecom SA (BME:CLNX), which lost 1.55% or 0.48 points to trade at 30.49 in late trade. Grifols SA (BME:GRLS) declined 1.19% or 0.12 points to end at 9.65 and Enagas (BME:ENAG) shed 1.06% or 0.13 points to 12.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 107 to 77 and 31 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.35% or 9.19 to $2,652.81 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.64% or 0.45 to hit $70.53 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.77 to trade at $73.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 106.85.
