Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC declined 1.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which rose 3.42% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) added 1.16% or 1.220 points to end at 106.110 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB) was up 1.24% or 0.230 points to 18.850 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which lost 3.06% or 0.380 points to trade at 12.040 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 2.86% or 1.250 points to end at 42.530 and Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) shed 2.32% or 7.520 points to 316.630.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 81 and 5 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.76% or 9.65 to $1271.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.50% or 0.77 to hit $50.46 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 0.63 to trade at $51.88 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.83% to 18.2691, while EUR/MXN rose 0.16% to 20.6756.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.53% at 94.09.
