Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 1.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR), which rose 4.69% or 30 points to trade at 670 at the close. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) added 4.21% or 24.00 points to end at 594.00 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) was up 2.70% or 65.0 points to 2470.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 9.70% or 62.0 points to trade at 577.5 in late trade. NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) declined 7.21% or 49.0 points to end at 631.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) shed 4.41% or 0.970 points to 21.010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 90 and 28 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.52% to 38.060.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.55% or 7.40 to $1349.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.64% or 0.43 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.94% or 0.68 to trade at $72.70 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.06% to 61.9635, while EUR/RUB fell 0.02% to 76.3933.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 89.48.
