Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 2.22% or 80.0 points to trade at 3680.0 at the close. MVideo (MCX:MVID) added 0.67% or 2.70 points to end at 403.80 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) was up 0.65% or 0.0002 points to 0.0348 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK), which lost 3.57% or 5.56 points to trade at 150.12 in late trade. United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) declined 3.32% or 1.025 points to end at 29.845 and Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) shed 3.18% or 18.4 points to 560.8.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 101 and 18 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 1.27% to 26.290.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.85 to $1286.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.48% or 0.72 to hit $49.24 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 1.19% or 0.68 to trade at $58.01 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.19% to 66.9338, while EUR/RUB fell 0.83% to 76.6000.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 95.458.
