Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Power and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 2.85% or 22.90 points to trade at 825.40 at the close. Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY) added 2.36% or 2.20 points to end at 95.30 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.90% or 12.60 points to 675.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included X5 Retail Group NV (MCX:FIVEDR), which lost 3.92% or 75.0 points to trade at 1840.0 in late trade. Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) declined 2.28% or 13.10 points to end at 561.90 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) shed 1.89% or 98.0 points to 5087.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 149 to 65 and 10 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.58% to 25.830.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.50 to $1302.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.49% or 1.69 to hit $66.19 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.48% or 0.36 to trade at $74.96 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.70% to 62.7355, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 72.4684.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 94.75.
