Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Magnit (MCX:MGNT), which rose 1.64% or 79.0 points to trade at 4882.0 at the close. Trubnaya Metallurgicheskaya Kompaniya OAO (MCX:TRMK) added 1.30% or 1.05 points to end at 82.10 and Rostelecom (MCX:RTKM) was up 1.27% or 0.85 points to 67.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MVideo (MCX:MVID), which lost 3.23% or 14.00 points to trade at 420.00 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 2.98% or 0.0260 points to end at 0.8470 and NPK OVK PAO (MCX:UWGN) shed 2.92% or 23.0 points to 765.0.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 114 to 101 and 20 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 2.77% to 22.250.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.18% or 15.70 to $1317.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.60% or 1.02 to hit $62.89 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 0.84 to trade at $66.45 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.83% to 56.1748, while EUR/RUB rose 0.23% to 68.7322.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.61% at 90.32.
