Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia lost 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NMTP (MCX:NMTP), which rose 3.23% or 0.2050 points to trade at 6.5600 at the close. MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) added 2.29% or 11.40 points to end at 509.00 and NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK) was up 1.94% or 20.90 points to 1100.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which lost 2.95% or 17.6 points to trade at 579.4 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 2.78% or 0.0194 points to end at 0.6774 and MVideo (MCX:MVID) shed 2.52% or 10.40 points to 402.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 117 to 78 and 30 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.99% to 25.990.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 9.00 to $1197.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $69.89 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.04 to trade at $78.19 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.10% to 68.0500, while EUR/RUB fell 0.48% to 78.7613.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 95.44.
