Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 3.67% or 4.90 points to trade at 138.40 at the close. Surgut-pref (MCX:SNGS_p) added 2.56% or 0.780 points to end at 31.250 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) was up 2.05% or 0.595 points to 29.550 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which lost 2.52% or 14.60 points to trade at 564.40 in late trade. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 1.95% or 0.0745 points to end at 3.7500 and MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON) shed 1.83% or 9.60 points to 514.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 130 to 84 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.05% to 19.500.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.15% or 2.00 to $1339.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.07% or 0.70 to hit $64.75 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.52 to trade at $68.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.50% to 56.8353, while EUR/RUB rose 0.17% to 70.5657.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.34% at 89.34.
