Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, Telecoms and Power sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which rose 7.69% or 50.0 points to trade at 700.0 at the close. Yandex NV (MCX:YNDX) added 5.60% or 117.50 points to end at 2215.00 and NK Rosneft PAO (MCX:ROSN) was up 4.71% or 18.05 points to 401.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p), which lost 4.87% or 8400 points to trade at 164050 in late trade. Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) declined 3.63% or 145.0 points to end at 3850.0 and United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) shed 3.41% or 1.060 points to 30.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 117 to 78 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was up 0.52% to 27.050.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.00 to $1305.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.28% or 0.19 to hit $67.44 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.10% or 0.07 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.54% to 63.9118, while EUR/RUB rose 0.46% to 76.4167.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 92.52.
