Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Manufacturing, Power and Oil and Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 2.46%, while the MICEX index lost 0.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the RTSI were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 15.70% or 7.51 points to trade at 55.35 at the close. MTS (MCX:MTSS) added 2.66% or 6.65 points to end at 257.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 2.43% or 8.15 points to 343.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sollers (MCX:SVAV), which lost 6.41% or 25.0 points to trade at 365.0 in late trade. DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) declined 5.40% or 26.10 points to end at 457.00 and TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) shed 4.98% or 2.50 points to 47.70.
The top performers on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) which rose 15.70% to 55.35, MTS (MCX:MTSS) which was up 2.66% to settle at 257.00 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which gained 2.43% to close at 343.30.
The worst performers were Sollers (MCX:SVAV) which was down 6.41% to 365.0 in late trade, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) which lost 5.40% to settle at 457.00 and TMK ao (MCX:TRMK) which was down 4.98% to 47.70 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 107 to 43 and 6 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.95% or 11.40 to $1211.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 1.50% or 0.79 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.27 to trade at $60.27 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.16% to 62.370, while EUR/RUB rose 0.61% to 70.620.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.32.
