Investing.com – Russia equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil and Gas, Telecom and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the RTSI fell 1.83%, while the MICEX index lost 2.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the RTSI were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 6.37% or 1.200 points to trade at 20.050 at the close. Mostotrest (MCX:MSTT) added 3.82% or 2.90 points to end at 78.80 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 3.28% or 2.38 points to 74.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN), which lost 5.10% or 18.00 points to trade at 335.00 in late trade. NMTP (MCX:NMTP) declined 4.67% or 0.0750 points to end at 1.5300 and Tatneft (pref) (MCX:TATN_p) shed 4.43% or 8.20 points to 176.80.
The top performers on the MICEX were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) which rose 6.37% to 20.050, Mostotrest (MCX:MSTT) which was up 3.82% to settle at 78.80 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) which gained 3.28% to close at 74.88.
The worst performers were Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) which was down 5.10% to 335.00 in late trade, NMTP (MCX:NMTP) which lost 4.67% to settle at 1.5300 and Tatneft (pref) (MCX:TATN_p) which was down 4.43% to 176.80 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 72 and 6 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.35% or 4.30 to $1231.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April rose 0.32% or 0.17 to hit $53.84 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 0.51% or 0.32 to trade at $61.84 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.34% to 63.134, while EUR/RUB fell 0.36% to 72.041.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 94.24.
