Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining, Telecoms and Manufacturing sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 5.27% or 6.10 points to trade at 121.90 at the close. Niznekamskneftekhim ao (MCX:NKNC) added 4.86% or 3.700 points to end at 79.900 and Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) was up 2.34% or 19 points to 830 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p), which lost 3.94% or 61.0 points to trade at 1486.5 in late trade. FSK EES (MCX:FEES) declined 2.91% or 0.0051 points to end at 0.1699 and NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) shed 2.27% or 1.99 points to 85.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 121 to 105 and 23 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 1.41% to 25.810.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.16% or 2.05 to $1258.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.13% or 0.58 to hit $50.77 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.28% or 0.68 to trade at $52.46 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.19% to 62.7233, while EUR/RUB rose 0.49% to 69.367.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.67% at 97.56.
