Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 3.78%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which rose 9.54% or 88.20 points to trade at 1,013.00 at the close. Gazprom PAO (MCX:GAZP) added 8.48% or 9.91 points to end at 126.72 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was up 6.63% or 3.08 points to 49.53 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank OAO (MCX:CBOM), which lost 1.01% or 0.07 points to trade at 6.66 in late trade. Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRODR) declined 0.10% or 1.20 points to end at 1,217.40 and HeadHunter Group PLC (MCX:HHRUDR) 0.00% or 0.00 points to 3,908.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 234 to 16 and 3 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.19% to 33.94.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 7.30 to $2,553.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.11% or 2.33 to hit $77.16 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $80.14 a barrel.
USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 92.00, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 102.68.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 100.76.
