Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Mining and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 1.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS), which rose 7.61% or 0.895 points to trade at 12.650 at the close. NLMK ao (MCX:NLMK) added 4.17% or 5.75 points to end at 143.70 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) was up 3.17% or 4.25 points to 138.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Detskiy Mir PAO (MCX:DSKY), which lost 0.93% or 0.85 points to trade at 90.50 in late trade. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 0.85% or 1500 points to end at 175000 and PhosAgro ao (MCX:PHOR) shed 0.62% or 15.0 points to 2405.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 73 and 21 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 0.12% to 25.210.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.83% or 10.90 to $1326.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.98% or 0.58 to hit $59.78 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.62% or 0.39 to trade at $63.18 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.83% to 57.9007, while EUR/RUB fell 0.63% to 71.0028.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 90.19.
