Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Power, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 6.19% or 0.0095 points to trade at 0.1630 at the close. Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN) added 5.71% or 43.4 points to end at 803.4 and Polyus OAO (MCX:PLZL) was up 5.40% or 224.0 points to 4373.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included MegaFon OAO (MCX:MFON), which lost 5.63% or 30.10 points to trade at 505.00 in late trade. Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p) declined 2.41% or 13.00 points to end at 526.00 and SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) shed 2.19% or 2.00 points to 89.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 105 to 104 and 17 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 6.63% to 24.230.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.05% or 0.60 to $1205.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.43% or 0.30 to hit $69.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.24% or 0.19 to trade at $77.83 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.88% to 67.6402, while EUR/RUB fell 1.55% to 78.3914.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 95.12.
