Investing.com – Russia equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Oil & Gas and Power sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia rose 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which rose 4.41% or 24.5 points to trade at 580.0 at the close. ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS) added 3.71% or 3.440 points to end at 96.190 and Severstal - ao (MCX:CHMF) was up 3.43% or 33.80 points to 1019.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Safmar Finansovye Investitsii PAO (MCX:SFIN), which lost 3.68% or 25.0 points to trade at 655.0 in late trade. Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) declined 2.56% or 0.0189 points to end at 0.7200 and Surgut (MCX:SNGS) shed 1.33% or 0.385 points to 28.535.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 95 and 20 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia options, was down 1.64% to 28.170 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.36% or 16.60 to $1202.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.62% or 1.77 to hit $65.86 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.17% or 1.58 to trade at $71.23 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.63% to 68.1325, while EUR/RUB rose 0.47% to 77.5874.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 96.28.
